Our Mission
Sales has a
marketing problem.
We're fixing it.
Most business training for women, immigrant, and minority founders is marketing-focused. Sales coaching — the thing that actually converts customers and generates revenue — is almost nowhere to be found. Sales Day of Service exists to change that.
Help 1,000 women, immigrant, and minority business owners grow to $1M in annual revenue — by 2040.
Hero opens with the provocation — "Sales has a marketing problem" — then lands the mission number. The pull quote on black grounds everything that follows in a single, bold commitment.
The numbers are
unacceptable.
Women, immigrant, and minority business owners represent one of the fastest-growing segments of American entrepreneurship. And yet the data tells a different story — one of persistent, systemic underinvestment in the skill that matters most: sales
Most business support programs focus on marketing, branding, and operations. Sales — the activity that directly generates revenue and funds growth — is almost entirely absent. Sales Day of Service is here to fill that gap.
About Us
Duplessy Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit built around one belief.
Sales is the most transferable, high-leverage skill a business owner can develop. And it's the one that's most consistently withheld from the founders who need it most.
We exist to close that gap — through community, coaching, and a commitment to making $1M feel achievable for founders who've been told to aim lower.
Sales Day of Service is our flagship annual program — three events, hundreds of volunteer coaches, and a growing community of founders building toward $1M together.
- Community. A network of founders, coaches, and allies working toward the same goal.
- Coaching. Real sales skills from real sales leaders — not theory, not worksheets.
- Commitment. 1,000 founders. $1M each. 2040. We say it because we mean it.

Why Sales
Marketing gets you
attention. Sales gets
you revenue.
Most business training programs focus on marketing, branding, and social media — the visible layer of business. Sales is the invisible engine underneath. Without it, attention doesn't convert. Leads don't close. Revenue stays flat.
We teach founders how to have a sales conversation, how to follow up, how to ask for the order — and how to build a system that repeats. That's the gap between $22K and $1M.
Accelerators, incubators, and business support programs overwhelmingly focus on marketing, operations, and fundraising. Sales is treated as a personality trait — something you either have or you don't. We know that's wrong.
The founders who break through $1M aren't necessarily the best marketers. They're the ones who built a consistent, predictable way to find customers, have conversations, and close deals. That's what we teach.
Marie went from $49K to $1M+ in two years. She credits one coaching session as the turning point. Multiply that by 1,000 founders and you begin to see what's possible.

founders get coached.
These aren't projections. They're the outcomes we've seen from founders who participated in Sales Day of Service and committed to the work.

$1M+

"I went from $49K to $1M in two years."
Marie came to Sales Day of Service as a Haitian immigrant running a small mural business in New York City. She left with a sales system — and the belief that $1M wasn't just possible, it was inevitable.
Two years later, Saint Cyr Art Studio employs 90 artists and generates over $1M in annual revenue from commercial mural work. Marie credits one coaching session as the moment everything changed.

Sidney Baptista — PYNRS Performance Streetwear
Sidney started PYNRS to make running gear for the runners he saw in his Dorchester neighborhood — Black, Brown, and built for the streets, not the suburbs. After SDOS, he sharpened his sales motion and unlocked wholesale, brand partnerships, and a community of run clubs that wear his gear from Boston to LA.

Yudelka Carrera — Events by Yudy
Yudy builds weddings and milestone events that families remember for decades. After SDOS, she rebuilt her pricing, tightened her sales process, and crossed seven figures. Verizon picked her as an ambassador for their Small Business program — a national platform for a founder who started with $20K and a phone.
The road to 2040.
Sales Day of Service is a chapter in a longer story. Here's where we've been, where we are, and where we're going.
